A misty errand bonfire night

So it's that time of year coming already, the peak of autumn has gone and passed, the cooler air upon us and surprisingly until the day we need it, it's gotten dry.  But with bonfire night and touch wood no train cancellations, it's finally time to enjoy and evening to myself to explore the bonfire in the city.

A Preperation Week

The Saturday was when Tavi hosts the lions fireworks which I got home just as they were taking place but could see them from home just about over the skyline, which then afterwards was Lamb Shank.

Sunday was but getting FCPX rendering now is a lifesaver and preservation achievement too. Turns out opencore graphics settings were mislabeled so that's been resolved plus another relaxing day, especially as the days will feel shorter now.

The  it comes up to be the Monday and just like any normal day, but in the end it was longer, after more email labels issues, to overcome, I pelted my way to Torpoint . Leaving at 3pm was actually a 2 hour stint to just get to that point, which roads were not as busy, cows blocking clearbrook gates until mooing at them made them move and then onwards. As I cycled in the city, the path layout gets confusing and makes me realise cycling on the road is much easier for navigating, but eventually as Google predicted, I arrived at the Torpoint ferry in dusk.

A Selfie on the Ferry

Maps telling me the next part of the cycle

I waited in the lane when I didn't even need to, cycled on and went to the left the  parked up, which it felt calming of being across the Tamar even with the l chains clanking away, it makes sense on why this part is fatal to anyone is falling in.

As I cycled onwards, from leaving the port,  it was actually an interesting area to navigate but Google ends up misleading with some farm lanes, almost made me cycle into the marsh but I skipped that and steep hills and cars revving that was almost a scary moment for my end. But eventually more hills and I got my way there about 17:43 ish, especially with a lake nearby.

I then greeted after getting the bikes chained to a bench in the estate, which was semi productive and fast speeds of internet surprising on that part really, but eventually by 19;30. I was the way to get back to leave Millbrook. But getting out of that village is quite confusing but if i stayed up on a hill, I would have haled the time to get back.

I planned out organised to go to st germans to then catch the train back but it was also going up narrow lanes and getting lost on and around it. So I managed to cycle my way on actually a nice road which had some narrow bits.

I eventually got my passing and it was on a hill and this was where my mind changes, I decided to cycle back to the main Torpoint the  get the train back or get to cycle the whole way. Which the view here was lovely too.

The View of the City from the Car park on a main road back

I managed to cycle it and passing some chavs that moaned im not seen though with 2 front lights, 1 Back light, reflective rucksack and jumper. But then I pelted it to there and the ferry was quiet, like hardly any cars in front but then i saw the green light by Torpoint and was on the ferry, gazing at the reflections and lights. I realised I need to clean so the alcohol gel saves the day.

I arrived and was only nearly the 20:30 pm mark which then it was time to wait for the ferry to park and by 20:43, I was then cycling my way to st budeouax, which actually was not too bad in the quiet road instead it as going to be the case to be needing a pee, so i wanted to stop by in saltash services, That was nice to park up but then it was no toilets when I walked in and two chaps smelling of weed and talking casually about things, so I walked back to the bike and cycled on my way to find the safe way back.

But there is no safe way, it was only the main road a3888 which then I had to get off a junction after polebor,  to be able to make a safe way back, which the junction was actually just behind it but not on the roundabout which made little sense.

I then was on narrow road the most of the way back with misdirection, signs warning to not use sat nav and then it was getting past rivers and winding turns along with the other parts, I eventually got to cotehele but misplaced the sign which then I went right to the quay instead of turning straight on then right.

After that I was on the main stretch by metherall and back past the park by 22:30 which  then i got to where i should have and back home, i had satay chicken with some rice and after eating that along with a green smoothie of various fruits, I felt BLOATED .

The  Chicken Satay with Peanut Butter, Salad, Crisps, Ketchup

Then I crashed out and almost puked twice overnight before it was time to go to wake up and prepare for today.

The Tuesday.

As I woken up around 7am, it was time to have the f a p to then get up then rush to pack the bits needed before then time to head off to get the bus to work. I ran out and noticed the ground was damp which is a shame for hoping that was nice tonight, but I then ran to the station and picked up the bus.

It was not too packed, but some people on and off , which then I was time to walk my way to work, I got off at spar with not many others after getting off., then it was to enjoy work.

Work

Actually it was quite calm and quiet, there was a few people in and out and then some admin I got done and then it was some repairs, I eventually was able to backup myphone for the last hour, which i was then able to run to get the bus that was leaving  at 5:30 i was there at 5:28. Then it was the journey

The journey

I got on the bus after hearing the bere Alston one had been delayed which the  I had some spare change of £2 to then get on and relax, typing this up and the battery pack power bank wasn't charging up that well.

As the bus was passing, it was quiet for most of it, people graduallying getting in and on at yelverton and horrabridge, wish then lead to getting to woolwell, which was ideal time to get the ticket to back home in case signal blocks it later on. But as it was coming to woolwell, it was getting dry queued up, let alone the issue of the single lane being chaotic as it was.

But then it was actually not as busy with people getting on when it comes to derriford and crown hill, maybe like one or two getting on but people were starting to leave when it came to the road to mutley, i was feeling the cold in my jeans too..

Soon bought it was time to head off and get by the station to my way into the city to start some errands before the evening ahead.

The city way to the bonfire

The bonfire starts at 7pm and I wasted some time to get to go to BM to get some bike lights before venturing, since another errands I will do on the way back if time allows me.  but the I got off at just from the Uni stop and the vlog started. But instead it was then my first stop to get bike lights which b&m was open at  this time of night.

Drakes Circus in the Misty Rain

As I walked in it was time going to be a quick one since of the fact the lights  were in there and also the bonfire was 5 minutes away as well.  But I got that and got changed before going out and making my way, starting to run it and the glow of the fair was shining bright across the city. Now it was time to wind my way in the streets and get to the hoe, which I took the shortcuts next to Tesco and also the left of the brass monkey which in itself was a easier way but still it's then going to join the main path as I reached the fair.

The fair and the Bonfire

So I got to the mild rides s fairground and it was busy with stalls and I mean LOADS of night glow sticks stalls, I reckon at least 10 I saw this night.

The Glow stick stands

The Ferris Wheel

A View looking at the Fair.

So, it was to approach the part of the main fair ground, that was glowing the city, the mist was not as dense at that point and it was heaving with crowds. But I made my way through and it was just scenes, loads of rides, a few sweet vans and also a nice amount of people too, some smells made me remind me of the Tavi college days as much as I don't miss that period of my life .

Another look up in the Sky

Eventually it then lead to getting to he bonfire, burning brightly and there was a degree of warmth, since this year was a bit warmer than other years in the past. But then it was a bit less of the crowds coming in which in itself was not too bad but it shows the more of the angles of the fire. Especially as the wind was facing the direction of actually the sea and in some angles my own direction, but it was nice to see the fair from a different angle.

A View from the Bonfire towards the Hoe and the Ocean

It felt nice with the warmth and then it was time to work on the next stages of getting closer to the Citadel to walk there but it was not very long and having to walk the same way back until it eas the display just oof the bang.

The Display.

So it was on the way passing and then it was going to be the case which as i was walking past the crowds a loud BANG went off and then it was the start of the display.  There were crowds all around me, so scared with things being budged too but it was just about visible inside. But the mist really let the display down.

The mist and the crowds

A Little bit brighter

This shows the best of it

More crowds as it carried on

But as the display was going, the rides went silent, like only the motors spinning and screams but no music. Which is fair for the display but still it carried on.

The colour of the mist was changing

More glows in the mist

The exposure does show a bit more

Coming to the big finale

The mist and smoke to cover the finale

Then to explore we shall once it finished, 15 minutes of nice fireworks in must of the crowds, the fair went back up and it was starting to clear up a bit more I noticed. But then it was nice to start exploring and seeing how the nights shine bright in this ocean city.

A Wonder before walking to the Barbican

As i explored, it did not feel like any evben was happen as such as it was just trying to reflect on things as the crowds screamed, the cold air was not really seeping in and also it was just feeling nice to actually kill time for a change. Especially as the fire was starting to dim down a bit when it came near and also more people wider loads was nice to see too. But it was more of a different loop for the pics. My Mum did whatsapp me asking how the fireworks were and sent a pic of the bonfire.

Then it was coming up around 8:20 and i was time to leave, I was bored and also wanted to make my way back to th city on the less crowded route via the barbican, since the plan was too eventually pay money into work via the santander atm which that becomes another chapter.

The Wonder to the Barbican and A Cineworld vast view

So it was then time to explore and wonder my way on the memories past of nights out, going back through the barbican and then back to the city/town. Which on my way was reminding myself of nights out here years ago and how nice and semi cute it was with the vibrant but not full of drunks style like bank holidays usually get. But as I walked down, there were some fireworks still being let off on the other side of the ocean/bay.

A view of Mountbatten and other side

But then it was turning into the barbican and it was nice, the warm air, calm lights and made me take walking down a nice slow approach . But then i walked past berties which was shut and the chines takeaways was looking not too busy either. But then going back to the main path, greek food smelled good and Cap n Jaspers was still busy.

The view of the marina #throughglasss

Walking near cap n jaspers

As then i went on the cobblestones which it was getting vibrant and some offers on pizza and drink for £10. But then it was seeing the still reflections and the neon signs over the harbour which lay it for the clubs and pub since Plymouth was apparently playing in home park that night too.

The look at the boats in the autumn sky

The view and reflections from the neon in the quay

As it then lead me to walk that way to turn right then left as it was then towards the barcode, which last time I really browsed here was a few times ago, which maybe one date a kaspa date night with a feedee might happen, but  local reminder of the past ruined that chance of happening until finally moving on with a big note of what i need to get paid back eventually or never happens as luck goes.

The look towards the barcode

Then i walked into Cineworld

So as i got to the barcode, i got into Cineworld to have a look since of the former articles of the barcode rooftop bar that never happened. But I then managed to walk in and open the door since only 2 of them were ipoenain, then it was up the stars to the lobby. Red one was advertised all over the placed o nthe nice wide screens and it felt a bit pizzaplex with hardly anyone in minus staff and empty places. Then i saw some of the food and looked not bad but posh prices for the snacks. Then i saw the Baskin Robbins and didn't see many sorbet options so might be worth a google for the future if that comes to it, maybe it might be worth a cinema date, but its a shame Tango ice blast didn't get into cineworld, that would have worked much better. Eventually I might go for a date here. But then i decided to walk my way back out, I was like the only person non staff member in there,.

I then walked out and back to the main city i went, with the signs glowing and the traffic going out getting queued up.

The barcode and traffic.

The Errand went wrong on the way to the train

I then decided to rush to try to get a drink, so went my way to BM and then it was like 2 minutes until close and was deciding what drink and food to get but after straff telling i gotta be quick bro, I semi bailed on it and then went out and was time to do the errand.

As i got to the bank, there was a person sitting for change with circumstances of homelessness and not many crowds walking by. So I then went to the second card machine and the screen said to insert it, which i did. Then I was seeing a restarting symbol which was going to be  the stress of oh SHIT the card got SWALLOWS in so i was patience and waited for it to restart. But then it was the realisation the card did not come out, So woops. Then i called the number and then got told the card might get collected tomorrow and then arranged a way to collect, Later might tell me otherwise.  So i signed and complained like a karen then ended the call and pretty much that errand went down the drain which is going to have a knock on effect for the rest of this year.

I then ran my way to Tesco to decided on a drink but even going there was like i was just having £0.40 in cash (not worth using card) so i then noticed the self service was card only so I walked out after putting the bottle back then ran my way to get the train.

The journey home.

So I then go to the station and walked in and past the open gates, which then left me to find the train and it was there already. I went to the 1st carriage, But semi luck i paid £5.15 for the journey home as i got the bus in, since if the signal cut out that would have messed things up.  But i got a lucky table seat and the usb sockets worked, So that was a peaceful journey back. But the £15 lights was the main positive chore done this night.

The train

The £15 bike light set

Then I typing this up and eventually shown the ticket once past Dockyard, which was a first on an evening train in a while, but time passed and I got back to the station at 10:22 or so pm which was then to get off and end the vlog, but that was after some food goodies on the way home in the community fridge. Like apple, coleslaw and hummus was the ones taken.

Then it was finally home and a late tea of Katsu curry with crisps and cous cous and naan bread with some ham too to final the night.

Then it was time to crash out and end the day. Take care and soon will be the review of the year but one more big event adding in to plan out.
