An Exeter Train Family outing and first afternoon off in months

So the weather's been good and trust must be learned with also how things are going to go back in the coming months with mistakes that were going to bits and pieces with former regrets coming back to haunt me. But like the parents said it's good to get a break. So enjoy this day out which was last minute planned.

The Saturday,

So with another day of having to work , I got to the chance to catch up from how it was going to actually take it, I had one iPad to sort out as best that has been overdue and also it has been  a hot weekend so customers were not as much. There was meant to be a visit to a customer but he cancelled so it was a case of going to visit someone to pick up money I was owed but as these things go with the past, I managed to get no telling where I'm meant to collect so that's looking like a bust. I mean mostly what I did the past week didn't happen so that will be useful for the day out.

I ended up getting the bus home at 6:20 and brought some of the cardboard with me to bring, some stares and comments about moving house but that I don't really mind.

The Selfie on the bus home.

With that hauled up I just got in and then it was time to change to then go to the local pub , I was a bit hmm since I looked a state but I then got myself changed with the stuff back and then it was onto the walk to the queen's head. We got there , mum and dad spoke to the landlord who was vaping outside , then we got in and found a seat at the back corner and I was unsure on what to order but in the end it was a choice between a curry or a Queensburger without the cheese. So the queen's burger and a basket of chips sounded the right one to go for.

A bit of chatter about what mum and dad did with Emma and some fencing sorted was while waiting and then various questions and gossip heard but eventually the burger came and the chips that mum and dad had were huge (not per chip size).

The Queensburger with Bacon, Oniom, Burger Sauce and a Bun for £9.75 and £4.75 for the basket of Chips

Then it was more to chat on while they sipped their drink and I was finishing off the pint of lime and lemonade. But then partway through, dads brother walked in and we all chatted for a bit before they went over to the bar. But we then chatted more for a bit before we went up to the bar to settle up, around the 9ish mark to be fair. But after more of a chatter and settling up, we alkes out and it was a reminder of the fact that next Friday was going to be another birthday to deal with.

We eventually got home and it was then time to get changed and relax into something a bit more comfy before getting on the laptop and then to type some work up , especially while dealing with watching MTV ridiculousness on IPTV, then relax about the half past midnight mark with the usual fap but let Finley in and feed him first before bed.

The Sunday

So this was waking up at 7:30am and getting the phone charged up, well then it was time to fap and have a check to get more charged up before I woke up about the half past 8 mark and got the kettle on before shaving. Getting some shorts on and then time to greet mum who had already done a long walk with Rosie about from 7:30 or so. She said about 3 things she had seen which was

  • A deer on the road just near us
  • A kestrel flying around
  • An adder flat on the road, slithering tongue while he had been Ran over

Which was nice and Rosie enjoying more old huge balls, Finley napping in the shade under a tree. But by 9, I was ready to go back in to get a shave done and prepare things, since I didn't want to change until I went toilet and also made sure things like the phone were ready.

But then it was time for toilet which was a struggle for a reason or two. But then it was paper used and I got changed to the shorts from yesterday and also a nice shirt for a change, but then things off and i was ready to go with them. We walked to the station and the train was already there. So we got on it, met our neighbors for some pirate weekend on the Barbican and then we were on.

Before we begin, i HIGHLY Recommend the use of Train Track if Android  and some app there might be on iOS like Train times.

The train ride

It was nice to be on the 4 seater with able to face each other and to be fair, the train was pretty busy, so it was checking times for changeover and hearing various chatter. But we then looked on the app and turns out a train to Cardiff was delayed and that meant it would be less of a change overtime for us. IT was interesting we got on and we saw the neighbours nearly behind us.

So we then waited and once the train got and stopped at Plymouth, we then walked to platform 8, which then we got on and saw a fair few waiting. Shortly after, the IET arrived and we got on coach C, which was peaceful and massive legroom but I forgot that there were no usb ports, only a 240V mains which I didn't bring a compact charger to fit in my pocket. But we got on and it was such a smooth ride, Huge leg room too, I could not even stretch my legs out.

Passing more parts

The Posh mansion near Newton Abbott

The Selfie when passing bushes

But then we paused st Newton Abbot, it was getting semi busier and also it was getting to the scenic part of the journey, which is to Dawlish and Starcross, which the Wall was being built nicely with the bridge, the road from starcross to Exeter was legit packed and queued. But made it easier to get to said places when it was no delays to deal with.

The Base of the Footbridge in Dawlish

We eventually got to Exeter St Davids, s about 12:10 and by pure luck there was an train to Exmouth to catch which was the ideal timing for getting in. So we walked up the stairs and then boarded the train which was only a corner journey but by the time the conductor was to pop past us , we managed to get off and made it to the central.

Passing the UPS dept

The main hub

The Exeter exploring

So we get to walk past the guildhall shopping and then we turn right to get to spoons, I mean last time I went with parents to Exeter, we went here it was here at the chevalier we ate at. As I walked by, I smelt a sense of the night out remains vibe. Like the smell of it was this strange perfume which I sense like when I'm around places of night outs since it feels like that Or holiday. Maybe it was the smell of the train.

Time for a Spoons Lunch

So we walked in and it was dead quiet to be fair, it was hardly many and we then moved to find a seat before we got to the bar and ordered. It was 2 chicken tikka and then one mini boneless chicken basket for me. Then it was to get to the toilet and to be fair to it, the toilets were posh looking compared to the Tavi spoons. But I then walked to the roof garden which was nice and at night would be fantastic,

The view from the spoons

As I turned data on a friend WhatsApp me saying about something or other which it can make rules feel like one from one and some for another really. But shortly as I got down, it was then chatter from mum about my sister's baby shower which basically leads to a BBQ after and having to kill time around the 23rd or June or something like. But then the food arrived and it was time for some sharing.

The Shared food and Boneless chicken basket with Chicken Tikka Masala

Then it was to get to tuck in and some of the tikka poured out as well as the basked of the chicken was shared. The sauce was lush and it did have nice breaded chicken bits too. But then we ate and it was just nice to enjoy spoons once in a while. Eventually we made our way out by 1:45 or so and then we decided to walk our way to the quay since both like it down there from the vibrant crowd and also the looks of the river and  it just can be nice at night for sure. As we walked to the cathedral first my feet tripped up and nearly pushed mum to the road, since I'll realise it had a bit of slippy feet with the skechers,

The Cathedral with the bird flying near past

Then it was the case to walk to the right to go down then leads in the subway under the road, which again was an almost trip since of the higher kerbs used there. But 5 minutes later we made it to the quay itself.

The Walk around the Quay

So the plan was to browse the shops  there from cute cards, cat memes on purses and even more cute gifts and crafts, dad purchased a card for his dad's for the birthday next week then we started to walk our way down to the bridge further down, I listened to a voice note on WhatsApps and I even saw someone fly fishing at the bottom of the wear when the water was ferocious down the slip.

The view of the weir and the fly fisher

Then we past the bridge after going inward a slight bit, loads were cycling along here so maybe it gives me an idea for a cycling vlog if I get time or something. But then we walked the other side of the river and it was packed with people and then we continued on to see some of the other sights and cafes and bars galore along both sides.

The other side of the quay with Rockfish and some other bite

We walked up towards the top of the quay and this cafe and antiques place was there which we walked in and into the cafe, then we chose some Various cakes which me and mum shared a lemon coconut one and the other was a fruit cake for dad which he said was a bit dry. We then walked out and got the table arranged to get 3 of us to sit there.

The view from the table

Then we chatted about more things and it was coming to the fact that fish were in the quay, a lovely shole of them and swans itching and resting on the mud like they normally do too . Then the cake arrived 6 or so minutes later.

The Cake and Apple juice

Eating the cake felt nice and it was a chance for dad to enjoy the latte as well, but the cake of fruit was a bit dry to be fair from what I was told, but I didn't have that. After that and more talking . We make it to walking to getting back to the city, a nice walk back via the way we got to the quay with no tripping.

Then it was walking around to get to princesshay, I wanted to visit the Oriental shop but we didn't get time, but dad wanted to get some ice cream and that itself was a mini quest for finding out where, which in the end we had to go to the guildhall and into Sainsburys, even that felt like a maze. But we got to go for a double sun magnum with mango, coconut and white chocolate. We ate that by the building in the middle which I remember Poundland use to be there that's gone now though, but a failed stall and a burger stall packed up as we were eating.

Then it was to head back

The resting journey of delays

So we started to make our way back from 3:30 which the station was not so much dead but trains at Exeter central were nothing. Our train was delayed by a few minutes so we managed to go to the toilet before getting the train which the south western railway, that was a quieter way to go and lovely seats. We then got to St David's and the train was going to the ends of the platform and then right opposite was a cross-country train back to plym. So we walked to get it and 3 coaches down and it was practically an empty coach. So we sat by a table and then 3 minutes later the train was off.

The view as the train to change

This was peaceful and a fast ish journey. But then a speech was heard of reduced food from the food coach, so I got some notes changed and had a look but well, since of that issue I had to deal with the past week, of someone from the past. So there was no money on card to buy and the chap on coach B had no change. So I walked back and then looked at the EX estuary.

As we were approaching dawlish warren, we were slowing down and a speech from the fact the train had to stop since of a train that was late further down so a distance of a queue. Which it was to admire the sea and then we continued on, sure the part of teignmouth was slow but it actually was to be a relaxing part. But then normal part of the journey and we got into Plymouth about 5 on the dot.

The subway for a Train Tea home

So with 30 minutes to kill or so, it was time to have a walk or in our case, walk to subway to get tea. Which we walked up the hill then past the underpass and near the student flats and the road at the bottom was under construction but we passed it and then got to subway.  Which then it was about 2 people in the queue. So mum and dad shared a footlong which the meal deal is now like £9.19 or so and the 6" is over the £5 if you do not go for the classic. But from one girl i subbed to on OF said on a status, the Subway cookies are something else so made me excited to finally have my first subway in like 3 years. But I went for

  • Hearty Italian
  • Chicken Tikka
  • Gherkins
  • Lettuce
  • Sweet onion sauce
  • Mountain Dew Citrus
  • Doritos Chilli Heatwave

We then paid up and walked back up the hill, since we had a half tub of pringles on the way back from exeter to finish off as well. But we got back into the station and the train was right there on platform 3. Since sometimes it does come early. We got on the train and then sat at a table to then tuck in, I waited about 5 minutes before since Wanted to eat as it was moving, but that was still 10 minutes later again.

The bag on the train

The Subway with Onion sauce, Chicken Tikka, Lettuce and Gherkins

Then it was a nice quiet ride home while, well actually one kid in front of us was kicking off and also it was a warmer train with golden hour still shining bright. But the journey was a non stop pretty much minus the stops of  the stations on the usual route. But with the majority of the ones that got on in the first train got on this one to go home, it felt nice to be fair, though as of this weekend this is not the last train back on the Sunday, there is a later one at 8pm.

But by 6:30 we got back and started walking up the hill, then we got back in and chatted about things, since it was then to discover a missed Voicemail from the care home about something to deliver which happens and then it was that windchill which was nice but still the golden hour. But that ended that and makes me realise how things might be easier for days out here but thats when i get time off, since ok sure the next day was my first day off used in 7 months (half day since an hour visit with a regular customer was done) and in a way, felt like a week off was taken. But time goes fast.

But then it was typing this up and then a text came by from someone special which was nice to catch up after like nearly a year or so. But that was all well and good and of course it was that windy chill but outside was nice to take the pics of something blurry before going to bed and a message from a pay to have a casual call with someone type on kik (Was asked by her to have a call a while back, not myself wanting to ask to call). Plus a ham sandwich the night was not a goood idea.

The blurred night photo at 1am

Then I went to sleep and the first non day of monday I've had ever since moving, is about to happen.

The Monday.

So waking up about the 8:15 mark to go to the toilet since it was the case of needing it since of the night before. But then relaxing and not sure where my mind was going, but in the end a fap or so over someone of a what could have been and then it was time to gt up at 9:30, which was the longest lie in i had in a while. But then the chage and usual bits was to happen before checking emails and getting my stick prepared from one laptop to another due to 5GB on a 4G device is a long time.

But by 10:20 i was changed in a black thermal shirt, black hoodie with zipped pockets and jeans with tiny pockets i could not use, then cycled my way to callington, for was supposed to be 2 visits but ended up just 1 since of what should happen actually not happen as i expected it to be.

So I cycled out and then got the first visit done, CCTV and needing my windows (glasses) for a 4K is semi hit and miss but then my regret when leaving my stick behind is an oops. But then by 12:20 i was gone and time to go to the first place, the bike shop to see how much the gear shift was going to cost, £40 inc fitting ish was not too bad. Then passing the spar which had FANTA FROZEN in stock like god that was tempting but due to last week, I had to budget pretty fucking hard or aka have to budget hard.

But then it was to go to b&M and managed to get various bits from the waffles, cat biscuits, cookie mix, chicken tikka mix and even some dog chews Rosie loves. £17.53 for that cost is not bad.

Then I cycled back to the customers to pick up the usb drive, which was fine and turns out I had then more questions to answer, which then lead me to pedal up to tescos, which was nice and while budgeting on what to get to make a Katsu curry for mum tonight since she would be the one late from work, I had to sort it out on what to get, I got a few whatsapp messages to enjoy and talk on from adorable scary relatable moments. But I ended up spending £2.30 there. Also i got told to shave my head form some american chap.

Random message I got sent

The Katsu Curry sauce and the nuggets for £1.10

Then it comes to the fun part, I cycled on the hill and the smell of pastry was yummy, but then parked up and got to the Ginsters Shop aka Cornwall Bakery. I walked in.

Entering the shop

So I got in there, it was mostly closed off but looked on the menu on what to order but then I looked at the bottom. Perfects  = Gluten Free Pasties box £0.50, So i asked about it and then you know, I walked out of there with a box of 6 Gluten Free Cornish PAsties for £0.50, an absolute bargain and means I spent £20.30 just over on food. So i squished the box back in and time to cycle home. I got home about 2:15 and unpacked.

The total amount spent today for about £20.30

So then it was some catching up and train booking ideas on the toilet for 45 min before it was time to get changed and take rosie for a walk, so we walked to the bottom of the valley via a lane or 3 footpaths and up a path I use sometimes to run home from the evenings at work.  By that point I was sweating and had to carry a bag of dog poo for most of the footpaths, until back at Dimson. Then a road to walk up and I got home about 4:25.

Walking near the road near the bridge

The selfie to go up the steps

So then it was time to have a late lunch of a toasted ham salad sandwich and that Gluten free pasty. It was nice but the cold made the taste different and it looked more like a pasty compared to the looks the normal versions do.

The Ham Sandwich and the Gluten Free Pasty

Then it was te time to relax and some chores to be done before cooking at 6:45 for when mum got home about 7:20 or so. It was just that tesco order and some egg fried rice chucked in the pan to fry. It was nice and filling too and not too rich.

The Katsu Chicken  nugget curry, Crisps chicken, salad and mayo

Then it was time to clean up and relax and get this posted finished up before havin to do more patches from someone who pleads me to help on fb at late at night when I et home from fucking work like 9 pm or just messages without warning, chaps like this is why i have to put off active status and alo I got a message asking to send more and then the person paying me was going to BACS it over like where that will actually happen I have no actual clue but repetition from August last year is looking like it might happen, NEVER USE CASH APP  KIDS HAVING IT DOESN'T always mean use.

Then thats another weekend gone and done, take care and i've still 2 reviews to video edit on top of posting on top of online working due to the above.

A Working Coronation Weekend,

Well, this weekend will go down in the history books for a big event in the years to go and the next 15 years at least. This is a once in a-generational lifetime for the majority of people, for me and younger, maybe this might be the first of  3 coronations I'm guessing will be the thing. But for me, it's been a normal weekend.  So let's go and see what happened, Vlog eventually will be coming.

Insert vlog here

The Saturday:

So this was a normal day to get going. Work was meant to be me getting the bus in but Mum insisted on dropping me off since she had shopping to get done, So I was up at 8:10 and then had time to shave for 10 to 15 minutes before it was the case of changed then in the car. Which then was time to go to work. So I got into work about the 9ish mark and then it was time to get stock booked. Like it was £ 2k worth to book and a phone setup which was part of that stock.

Work was getting to catch up and actually, it was quiet to catch up with the stock booking and not many customers popping in which made it easier. So That was the case, the phone was getting to be set up albeit with some chatter and having to wait around, but that pricing label worked out. So it ended up with me glimpsing the news, with the arrests being done and also the chance I would be able to explore the mini-festival that day.  But it was time to have a leftover Oreo brownie from the lunch colleague bought me and him yesterday.

Brownie leftover

But as time goes, a text from a customer meant I had to visit them after work, so money wise would make a warranty visit since I only saw them on Tuesday. But I agreed and even after a tiny few customers, the sun came out, 5pm arose and Time to get things ready and go home...I mean to visit the customer and I got there at about 5:14 or so. It was then time to have a quick check of a TV but with this, it was a bigger favour to be asked and to be fair, I got home and even with a taxi being offered, I helped anyway. Let's re-manage the room to move the TV to make it in a diagonal corner.

So with a cuppa forced to be made for me (I did say no but was insisted) I had to wait for like 10 minutes to cool down since could not have milk with it since no almond milk or oat milk. But then it was time to disconnect everything there and get it tidy. This was not too bad but it was good to get it done gradually, which soon was both of us lifting the drawers full of records and then basically moving around to then reconnect things. Repetition is what I hear in both work and family and I lead myself to end up doing it so it's just the habits of how most of the town and I Work in are.

But it was eventually done by about 7:20pm and then we both headed to walk down to the square, I had to walk on his left side due to blindness and he kept mentioning about having someone with him is safer But then we looked around and I saw the sweet stall and got given 2 full bags of doughnuts. Then we walked around, He purchased a can of Fanta Fruit twist, and then we both sat and watched/listened to the music, some of Madness, some classic 80s hits and even some of the casual bits.

The Festival

But it was heading towards the end of the event at 7:50 and then me and the customer went back to his place where I got the TV open up and then it was 8:00pm and the time. Which for this it was time to Run home yet again, well that was the second day in a row. The weather was dry but it was looking like it could pour at any moment. But I ran my way and got back around the 9:20 mark. The Hill is always tough but it was easier as the jeans stretch. The Crease lane way is starting to be the quickest these days.

The Lane is nice and green and the clouds grey but a peek of sun

A selfie on the hill down

The selfie as I get to the main street in the village

But Then greeted parents before it was time to get some food which was leftover from others and then added the Donuts that were in the rucksack on the way home. It was nice but very carby which was in itself a bit nice.

The Night meal of salad, Donut, Sweet potato fries, Donuts and Spring Vegetable rolls

Then it was time to relax and do some directly work before heading to bed to have a lie in on what would be the only day off.  But we have to really go back to basics and then it was the Sunday.

The Sunday:

So this was actually a day to have a lie in and then it was time to get up and at them or so said.  But it was not too bad weather, that heavy look but still dry.

The Selfie in bed

So I got up and then was time to get things done, I was up after a fap over a Scottish cutie I've crushed on for a long while but dating someone else near them driving a Subaru of all things. But then it was time to get a nice frozen fruit. just a smoothie actually since it was the case of no frozen fruit. But then it was later on and checked socials and also had to build a firepit before having some toast for breakfast.

Eventually, it was to do more chores such as moving the bookcase out of my room and then got disassembled for wood kindling since it was too tall to go in the hallway. But that led to games being moved into the wardrobe in the end. But then it was time to get to walk down to the village to see this steet party which was ok, some empy chairs, the cafe only had 1 person there and the BBQ was a nice smell to it and a queue for £1 burgers is a very too go to be true deal.

A look at the street party with the clouds and the BBQ marquee

The weather got very hot by that point and I popped into the shop to get a Paper of the Sun for £1.40 and then £2.75 for the bag of Flame Grilled Whopper Doritos for later on.  I eventually got back home under an hour later then for a lunch of sausage rolls and salad. But then it was resting time nd checking the internet before some of Dad's friends arrived to stay for a bit, which then involved some  Scones for Tea. Then Grandad popped over for a bit longer and then went out quickly.

By 4:30, it was all gone people-wise, and me and parents were going to walk Rosie which we did the round road to get from the house to the Hignston down mine for the view and were then chatting to a girl on snap who recently broke her bed from bad habits we share,  halfway back. It was nice but it was going to lead to more bad habits.

But thne by about 6 we got home and had time to finish the gammon from the slow cooker while I fried up some Nasi Goreng in a frying pan and had to struggle to chop the salad's part for it. I eventually got it chopped with help and sauces add it. But the crip and salsa were gods.

The tea from the Sunday night

And there you have it, ok sure we did watch the concert outside before having to rush in due to Rosie barking her head off and also the concept in itself was not too shabby, Some vat genres and then it was typing this up and snapping before another sleep before s wet Monday.

And there you have it, Monday to be fair was a nasty foggy day at work and no fap so stress this coming will weill be a happy or 2 to dress in loose clothes.

But enjoy this week and then another event or two will unfold and a post to talk about past feelings is on list too
